LETTER: An honor box doesn’t mean optional

In a letter published recently in The Sun, there was some incorrect information written.

In Wanda Bryant Ruffin’s letter she mentioned Deer Lake not having a fee. It does in fact require a fee for use.

It is clearly stated on the signs upon entering the park, $3 for a carload up to 8 people, and $2 for bikes and pedestrians. The use of an honor box doesn’t mean the fee is optional, and paying leaves a record of use so that the administrators of the parks know how busy that park is.

Deer Lake is managed by the Grayton Beach State Park administration so if there are any questions, they will be able to address them.
