With clouds starting to roll in Wednesday afternoon, only a few of the small charter boat fleet that launch off Grayton Beach behind the Red Bar ventured out onto the Gulf.
However the ones that did brought in some good catches.
Wes Brown of Georgia landed this king mackerel while fishing with Capt. Jimbo Bishop on an afternoon trip. Brown said this was his first time to go Gulf fishing and his was the first fish of the day.
The Brown family pulled in what you see here on the side of the boat — mingo, white snapper, triggerfish and a king mackerel. Capt. Jimbo Bishop said they also had several more mingo and white snapper in the bucket — not enough nails on the board.
Capt. Phil Hammond of Capt. Phil's Charters cleans up the afternoon catch right on the back of the boat. He and his group came in from their three-hour trip with mingo, white snapper and a few amberine.
