Blue Devils stick it to Seahawks in Semifinals

In the last two minutes of the period, Holmes County pressed and South Walton struggled to get the ball past half court. The Blue Devils on the other hand put up 13 points, with Concepcion knocking down three more 3s. Holmes County led 34-17 at the half.

In the third quarter, South Walton had a short-lived run with Eliza Langille, Francette Warren and Mackenzie Perot each scoring two points. Holmes broke the run with an inside shot from Concepcion. In the last three minutes, Holmes pulled away with Concepcion hitting a couple of 3-point bombs, bringing her total on 3s to seven for the game and 26 points for the game. The Blue Devils led 52-30 at the end of three.

Holmes County spent a lot of time at the foul line in the fourth quarter, making 10 of 15 tries. South Walton scored 13 points for the quarter, and Holmes finished up with 17 and the win.

With the loss, the Seahawks finished up 14-14.

"This was such a roller coaster year," Craig said. "They played hard … they just never jelled. We had a lot of inexperience at the guard position.

"And we played the toughest schedule, I've played in my 32 years" for this level, Craig said. "But they didn't back down."
