Newly formed swim team wins division at Tennessee meet
From Feb. 21 - 24, Emerald Coast Swimming competed in the Southeastern Short Course Championship Meet in Nashville, Tenn. The meet was held at the Tracy Caulkins pool and attended by over 630 top qualifying swimmers from all over the southeast.
ECS won the first place team trophy in their division out of 31 teams, and came in 10th overall out of 50 teams.
The 10U girls for ECS won the second place trophy behind Birmingham Swim League, and ECS's Emma Strom gained a ranking of 5th in the nation with an incredible T16 time of 1:06.49 in the 100 yard butterfly.
ECS is a competitive year round swim team that practices in Destin and Fort Walton Beach at the YMCAs. The team is open to swimmers of all abilities and ages, from beginner to masters, and enrollment is ongoing.
