Strength in numbers, depth for Seahawks

"Our strength … it's really been depth. Being able to rotate people in there and try and keep fresh legs out there," Tisa said. "The offense and defensive line being able to go one way" has been a plus.

As for whether the Seahawks will be a running or passing team, coach says "we're going to take whatever the defense gives us. But we hope to be as balanced as possible."

What the Seahawks are lacking in right now is "getting used to playing at a quick tempo and getting in shape in three weeks," Tisa said.

Also the kicking game needs some work. Currently they are working with about three different players at that position such as Chandler Parent, Sage Roberts and Cory Crawford.

The Seahawks will get a chance to show what they have next Friday with a 7 p.m. Kickoff Classic at Walton County High in DeFuniak Springs. The first half will be varsity against varsity and in the second half teams will get a chance to substitute and play some of their junior varsity players.

The first regular scheduled game is at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 30 at Franklin County. South Walton ended its season last year with a victory over Franklin.
