Walton Braves stick it to Seahawks

SANTA ROSA BEACH -- The Walton County High Braves came down from the north Friday night and stuck it to the South Walton Seahawks 49-0 in varsity football action.

On the warpath, four Braves put points on the board with senior quarterback Amos Williams leading the attack. Williams carried the ball 12 times for 133 yards and two touchdowns (one for 93yards), while completing eight of 12 through the air for 85 yards.

Sophomore Azende Ray rushed six times for 104 yards and two touchdowns. Ray also had a catch from sophomore quarterback Jace Fielder for a 22-yard score.

Walton's Shawn Caldwell had 11 carries for 54 yards and one touchdown, while Fielder got the other TD on a 19-yard run in the second half.

The difference in the game was "athletes," said South Walton Coach Phil Tisa. "They've got a lot of good athletes and they out athleted us."

Walton had 458 yards total offense with 340 coming on the ground, while South Walton only had 190 total yards and 77 on the ground.

Anthony Gundrum rushed six times for 31 yards for the Seahawks, while Zach Reese picked up 23 yards in three rushes.
