Celebrated for popularizing the widely growing sport of standup paddleboarding (SUP) in Northwest Florida, local paddleboard manufacturer YOLO Board has successfully rooted itself in the Destin area with the opening of YOLO Board + Beach in Miramar Beach eight months ago. A complete lifestyle outfitter for SUPers, skimmers, skaters and all around beach lovers, the 11,000 square foot flagship store has become a must-visit spot for outdoor-loving locals and tourists.

"Opening YOLO Board + Beach was a natural progression for us,” explained Jeff Archer, co-founder of YOLO Board. “We’re always trying to push the evolution of our brand while also providing what our customers need and want. Our original retail warehouse in Santa Rosa Beach continues to receive awesome traffic, so we’re encouraged that the market was ripe for us to expand west.”

Located on Highway 98 just west of the Silver Sands Outlet Mall, the store offers a wide selection of the latest industry gear and apparel including standup paddleboards, paddles and accessories, kayaks, skim boards, skate boards, land-paddling boards, hats, footwear, and mens, womens and kids clothing including swimwear, fishing apparel and yoga apparel. Featured specialty brands are YOLO Board, Dakine, GoPro, Garmin, Kialoa, Kreed, Bomber, Hinano, Prana, Carve, Ocean Minded, Rainbow Sandals and much more.

YOLO Board enthusiast and local entrepreneur Mike Ragsdale of the southern cult brand 30A.com recently reflected, "30A.com and YOLO Board were born at roughly the same time, and although they each started out as small local businesses, it's been exhilarating to watch them both grow into internationally recognized brands with zealot-like followings. YOLO Board is a huge source of local pride, and YOLO Board + Beach has quickly become an asset to the community."

The property features a spring fed lake for product demo and training paddling, as well as an open-air deck area for fitness classes and group gatherings. YOLO Board currently offers an array of classes under the evolving umbrella brand YOLOFit, including SUP yoga classes and Beginner SUP classes taught by a team of certified SUP and fitness experts.

YOLOFit is an initiative to foster and grow health and well-being within the local community through training, education and fitness instruction. The lake also serves as a convenience for YOLO Board’s optional “try-before-you-buy” policy where customers can test boards prior to purchasing.

In addition, daily and weekly board rentals are available at varying rates.

“With its all generations appeal, we truly believe SUP is the new bicycle — and offering a complete lifestyle store with its base in SUP has been a longtime vision for us. Just like the adventure we feel whenever we get out on the water for a paddle, we can’t wait to see what will happen next with this sport,” adds Archer.
