The Kindergarten classrooms at Van R. Butler Elementary were filled with noise, scared faces and even a few tears. The kids weren't the only ones who were nervous. kindergarten teacher Suzanne Dunn said she still gets butterflies on the first day of school even though it is her third year at the school. "I'm just excited to get to watch their growth from the very beginning," she said. Principal Tammy Smith said Wednesday's orientation had a great turnout — a good sign for the new school year. "I'm looking forward to see everyone come back," she said in a crowded hallway.
