Charity Auction

The 28th Annual Charity Auction begins with a silent auction from 6-8 p.m. on The Big Deck at Harbor Docks Restaurant, 538 Harbor Blvd. in Destin. Live auction follows, with auctioneer/host Ted Corcoran. A $15 donation will be accepted at the door and a buffet dinner and cash bar will be provided. Local musician Chris Alvarado will play during the silent auction and Destin favorite Cadillac Willy will perform after the live auction. Art class/food drive

Abrakadoodle will host a Family Art Class and Food Drive benefiting Food For Thought, which serves Walton and Okaloosa counties, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Destin Commons Studio. Sandestin Triathlon

The 27th Annual Destin Triathlon (formerly the Elephant Walk Triathlon) will lure 700 participants for a half-mile Gulf of Mexico swim, a 20-mile bike along the coast, and a 4-mile run through Sandestin’s beach and bayside community. Proceeds benefit Sacred Heart Hospital of the Emerald Coast. Race begins at 6:30 a.m. on the beach 1/2 mile west of Elephant Walk Restaurant. Post Race Party will be held at 10:30 a.m. beachside at the Elephant Walk Restaurant Pool Deck.

Public workshop

The Walton County Department of Administration will hold a Public Workshop at 5 p.m. in the Board Room of the DeFuniak Springs Courthouse, 571 US Highway 90 in DeFuniak Springs.

The purpose of the workshop is to receive public input and comments into the US 331 Corridor Design and Development Standards to be placed before the Walton County Board of County Commissioners for final approval and adoption.
