James C. Moody

Mr. James Moody, age 87, passed away Sept. 28, 2012. He was born May 3, 1925, in Elba, Ala., to William Howard Moody and Lena Moore Moody.

Mr. Moody was a resident of Freeport and was Baptist by faith. He was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the United States Army, receiving a purple heart for his valor in combat. He owned and operated his own business, Moody’s Grocery in Montgomery, Ala. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F+AM #108 Freeport, serving as a Master Mason.

Mr. Moody is preceded in death by his parents, one son, James H. Moody, and one brother, Thomas H. Moody.

Mr. Moody is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Wynelle B. Moody of Freeport; son, Doug Moody and wife Jeanine of Freeport; daughter, Theresa Morgan and husband Wayne of Eufaula, Ala.; sister, Mary Scarboro of Montgomery; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
