Here are a few of the developments in the works for Walton County.

Idyll Hounds Brewery is a major development that would call for a 7,500-square foot building to be constructed for the operation of a brewery, bottling and warehouse facility. The project would be located off of U.S. Hwy. 98, approximately seven miles east of Hwy. 331 on Serenoa Road.

The Donut Hole at Inlet Beach would call for the construction of a 6,559-square foot restaurant at the Northwest corner of Hwy. 98 and Wall Street in Inlet Beach. The property is owned by Chandler Investments LLC and would basically create bookend restaurant on 30A.

There is a request on file from Sandestin to convert an already approved hotel project into multi-family apartments (residential). The project is located within Grand Boulevard and is comprised of three continual parcels of land.

30 Avenue is a proposed retail center on 16.47-acres of land on the North side of the intersection at 30A and Hwy. 98. Units in the center would be owned or leased.

Uptown Plaza is a major development and would call for a tavern and restaurant commercial center to be built within three buildings totaling 5,775-square foot. The project would also include a 2,100-square foot cigar and tavern social club, a 2,625-square foot cafe and a 1,050-square foot restaurant. Uptown Plaza would be situated on the North side of Hwy. 98 to the east of N. Holiday Road. This project has been approved.

Topsail Apartments is a minor development that would see 310 multi-family apartments constructed roughly 30.05-acres of property within the Topsail West Planned Unit Development. The apartments would be located between E. Hewett Road and W. Hewett Road. This project has been approved by the county.

The Crossings at Inlet Beach is a proposed 17,335-square foot commercial retail center. This project will be located on the North side of Hwy. 98 between Wall Street and Orange Street.

The Market Shops at Sandestin, OBP Partners of Miami, are launching a revitalization effort that will transform the resort shopping area into a dining, shopping and entertainment center with neighborhood flair, according to a press release. Renovations are expected to begin in October and completed in January.

Lupin Beach, a 20-home neighborhood off of Magnolia Lane in Inlet Beach, was originally approved in 2010 by Walton County Commissioners before being sent back to planners in 2012. Opponents of the project say the development violates Florida and county measures to protect the primary dunes, which have kept existing structures undamaged through past hurricanes.

The Inn on the Gulf is a trio of luxury, four-story buildings, situated near Rosemary Beach. The development will feature one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging from 460-square feet to 2,118-square feet. Phase one of the project is expected to be completed by the summer of 2014. This project has been approved by the county.

A proposed Dollar General at Inlet Beach is a proposed project that has caught the ire of nearby residents that say the store "doesn't fit."
