Coastal Branch Library will celebrate Teen Read Week with a screening of “The Hunger Games” from 4-5:30 p.m. Oct 15 and “The Hunger Games” addition of Family Feud from 3:30-5 p.m. Oct. 25. Area teens are challenged to read “The Hunger Games” trilogy before the events.

Friends of the Coastal Library will sponsor the events. Lonnie and Dana Andrews, local restaurant owners of The Smok-n-Butts, will donate pulled pork and pulled beef sandwiches along with all the fixings.

Parents of teens are encouraged to celebrate Teen Read Week at home as well. Some suggestions are to set aside time each night for the family to read. Give books or magazine subscriptions to your teen as a gift or reward. Share your favorite book with your teen. Join a book discussion group at the school or public library.
