Butch Beal

Mr. Butch Beal, 59, passed away Dec.  24, 2013. He was born July 8, 1954, in Perkinston, Miss.

a resident of Santa Rosa Beach, Mr. Beal worked as a wallpaper installer and in shrimping. He loved antiques and building things.

Mr. Beal was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Beal Warren of Santa Rosa Beach; daughter, Shilona Dye and husband Buster of Gulfport, Miss; brother, DC Beal; sisters, Audrey, Shirley and Dot; and granddaughter, Haley Dye.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Rev. Michael Joseph Calumbo, Sr.

The Rev. Michael Joseph Calumbo, Sr., 96, passed away Dec. 23, 2013. He was born March 6, 1917, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Rev. Calumbo was a resident of Seagrove Beach and Methodist by faith. He was a member of Point Washington United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of WWII serving his country in the United States Army as a sergeant. He also served as an ordained minister for 36 years for the United Methodist Church. He loved his cat ‘Rusty’.  

Rev. Calumbo is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia Calumbo; son, Michael J. Calumbo, Jr.; brother, Joseph and Barney; and sister, Rose. 

Rev, Calumbo is survived by his son, James Calumbo of  Seagrove Beach.  

A time of visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Jan. 7 Point Washington United Methodist Church, 1290 North Hwy. 395 in Santa Rosa Beach.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. 11 Jan. 7 at Point Washington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Spencer Turnipseed, Father Kevin Johnson and the Rev. Rodd Debs officiating.

Burial will follow in the Point Washington Cemetery, with Military Honors.
