Owen James McLaughlin



Owen James McLaughlin passed away at his home in Anchorage, Alaska, Dec. 11, 2013. Owen was born in Bridgton, Maine, Sept. 13, 1983, to Dan and Vicki McLaughlin. 



He grew up in Fryeburg Harbor, Maine, and enjoyed every activity Maine had to offer. He loved to hunt, ski, camp and explore the woods around his home. He attended Fryeburg Academy until 1998 when his family moved to
Florida.



He graduated high school from the Academy at Sandestin in 2001. He enlisted in the Air Force shortly after and was stationed at Peterson AFB, Colo., where he met and married his wife, Marian, also in the Air Force. They had two children during their time there.



Owen separated from the Air Force in 2004. In 2010 the family was moved to Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage. During his time in Colorado and Alaska, Owen continued to enjoy the outdoors, a passion he passed along to his children.



Owen is preceded in death by his father, Daniel, who passed away in 2012, and his brother, Daniel Jr. who passed away in 2013.



He is survived by his wife, Marian; sons, Conner, 7, and Keagan, 5; mother, Vicki McLaughlin of Basin Bayou, Fla.; sister, Erin McLaughlin and her partner, Anthony Cavazos of San Francisco, Calif.; grandmothers, Mary McLaughlin of Lovell, Maine, and Doris Render of West Des Moines, Iowa; brothers- and sisters-in-law; and dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece and nephews. 



A funeral mass was to be held April 5 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Fryeburg, with a burial immediately following.
