Art exhibit: Santa Rosa Beach artist and cartoonist, Mark Douglass, shows off his “serious side” in an exhibition of colorful acrylic paintings on display in the Calhoun Room at the Destin Library during the month of August.

Art Exhibition: An opening party for Sara Lierly’s Art Exhibition will be held from 7-9 p.m. at Amavida Coffee and Tea, 104 North Barrett Square, Unit 1A, in Rosemary Beach. Cody Copeland performs and complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Grand Boulevard Farmers’ Market: The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Grand Park in Miramar Beach between Cantina Laredo and Tommy Bahama’s.Vendors will offer locally sourced food-based items including produce, eggs, milk, butter, grass-fed beef, chicken, lamb, and pork, honey, pickled vegetables and gourmet jams.

Americana Under The Stars: Bring a chair, a beverage and enjoy the music of Scott Wetter at 6:30 p.m. in the amphitheater at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Open mic begins the evening. Free admission into park and a suggested donation of $5 goes to the Friends of Topsail Hill. Food available for purchase.

La Cocina anniversary: La Cocina Mexican Grill and Bar, 10343 East County Hwy. 30A in Seacrest, will celebrate its fifth anniversary with food and drink specials and an interactive social media element from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. All guests who dine at the restaurant will receive a complimentary piece of Tres Leches Cake with their meal. Auditions: Seaside will host auditions for the Third Annual Seaside Nutcracker from 5-6 p.m. at the Seaside Assembly Hall, 168 Smolian Circle in Santa Rosa Beach. One Heart One Voice Women: Dee Chernicky Ministries will host a new monthly community outreach, One Heart One Voice Women, which will meet every month from 10 a.m. to noon at The Palms of Destin, 4201 Indian Bayou Trail. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and free childcare provided with online reservation. Service includes live worship with local and national guest speakers. Chernicky will speak at the first meeting.

Star gazing: Henderson Beach State Park will host a star gazing program for all ages from 5-10 p.m. Telescopes will be available for public viewing of star clusters, planets, and galaxies.
