Your holiday season will resonate with merriment and joy when you join Sinfonia Gulf Coast on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the incredible Destiny Worship Center in Miramar Beach.

Sinfonia’s talented orchestra, Music Director Demetrius Fuller and several Broadway Stars will be showcased when the main season begins with a “Broadway Holiday.” Sinfonia’s annual holiday concert will feature Tony Award-nominated Broadway superstar Gary Mauer (currently the Phantom in “Phantom of the Opera”) and vocal sensation Morgan James (“Godspell,” “The Addams Family,” and “Motown the Musical,”) as they join the orchestra and Maestro Fuller for an orchestral tour through everyone’s favorite holiday melodies and the beloved Broadway tunes that made them famous. Bring the entire family out for this festive concert occasion, but leave your naughty ones at home to ensure that Jolly Old St. Nick makes an appearance.

In addition to the holiday events, the 2012-2013 season marks Sinfonia’s seventh year of innovative musical programming as the region’s only fully professional symphony orchestra. Maintaining the tradition of “symphony redefined,” the non-profit symphony will present a stellar lineup of concerts featuring the orchestra and world-renowned guest artists. Dubbed “007 Years of Symphony Redefined,” the season culminates in an orchestral tour de force of the original soundtracks from all of the “James Bond” films in “Bond & Beyond: Celebrating 50 years of James Bond.”

Season tickets are on sale now through Dec. 14 and tickets for both holiday events are available online or through the Sinfonia Box Office. Patrons may click on or call the Box Office at 850-269-7129.

Epic recording artist, Morgan James is not just a great soul singer…or a great R&B artist, or even a great jazz artist.  The classically trained vocalist is malleable enough to encompass several genres, while displaying vocals reminiscent of Motown-era greats, all the while making her mark on Broadway.  At home on the classical, concert and rock stages Morgan James is one of the country’s most sought-after singers.  She is a versatile vocalist, easily maneuvering between genres.  As a solo artist, she has played to sold-out crowds at popular N.Y. nightspots such as Birdland, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola at Lincoln Center, Dominion, Joe’s Pub, Le Poisson Rouge, and Rockwood Music Hall.  Her debut solo Live CD comes out this holiday season, featuring the music of Nina Simone (Epic).

Morgan's Broadway credits include the upcoming "Motown: the musical," last year's Broadway revival of "Godspell," and the original casts of Frank Wildhorn's "Wonderland" and "The Addams Family," starring Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth.

A veteran of commercials and voice-overs, in addition to her extensive theater and concert career, Morgan is a graduate of The Juilliard School in New York City.

Gary Mauer can be seen on Broadway as the Phantom in the Hal Prince production of “The Phantom of the Opera.” In addition, Mauer performed in the Broadway production of “Les Miserables” in the role of Enjolras, the revolutionary leader, a role he also performed with the National Tour in the U.S. and Singapore. In addition, he performed the leading role of Gaylord Ravenal in the National Tour of “Show Boat,” opposite his wife, Elizabeth Southard. Mauer was also a featured soloist in the world tour of “The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber,” with Michael Crawford, bringing him to Japan, Australia, England, Scotland and culminating back in the U.S., where he performed for two weeks at the famous Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Regionally, his numerous credits include Jesus in “Jesus Christ Superstar,” Frederick in “The Pirates of Penzance,” Anthony in “Sweeney Todd,” and Tony in “West Side Story.”

A graduate of the University of Arizona, Mauer has performed with symphony orchestras all over the world including the Brazil Symphony Orchestra in Rio de Janeiro the Cleveland Orchestra, Chicago Symphony (with Marvin Hamlisch), Colorado Symphony, Utah Symphony and Opera, Buffalo Philharmonic, Phoenix Symphony, San Diego Symphony, among many others. In October, 2006, Mauer performed with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops and toured with Mr. Nero in Spain last summer. He is also the tenor soloist in the popular BRAVO Broadway!
