MIRAMAR BEACH — The bright, twinkling lights of the Christmas tree in the center of the Village of Baytowne Wharf lit up Saturday for the finale of the annual wine tasting.
As the tree changed colors to the beat of a Christmas song, people gathered around the center of town to watch and listen.
Lines of people waited for the different types of wine and spreads of hors d’oeuvres. The tables of wine glittered with their own miniature lights.
The spreads and wines were served to guests at different booths throughout the Village. There was also a booth that held chocolate-covered strawberries.
During the event, carolers walked around the village and sang Christmas songs for the crowds of wine drinkers.
Amy Jacobi and Casey Wright, two attendees of the event and lovers of wine said their favorite was the Josh Prosecco.
"We love wine especially bubbles," they agreed.
Another group of attendees was celebrating their class reunion. The group was styling matching Santa hats and shiny light bulb necklaces.

Heidi Gonzalez and Matt Morgan, who live in Sandestin, said they love to attend local events.
