Cigar aficionados in South Walton will not need to drive far to get their fix after the 4th of July weekend when Shore Thing Cigars celebrates its grand opening at The Hub on the eastern end of 30A.
At Shore Thing Cigars, customers will find a walk-in humidor with hundreds of different kinds of hand-rolled cigars imported from the Dominican Republic, and Honduras.
The cigars can be enjoyed outside on the shop's patio, or relax inside with a glass of champagne, wine or beer.
There is a selection of 15 various reds, whites, and rose wines, including brands such as Caymus, Cuvee, and Dom Perignon. Local 30A wine is served by the glass and the rest is sold by the bottle.
"It's a lifestyle lounge," said the store's co-owner Paul Copeland. "And, with the wine and champagne, we are focusing on the higher end ones."
Wines by the bottle start at $30 and go up to $325.
The lifestyle lounge has scented air, an indoor conversation area, a large patio with sofas, and seven flat-screen TVs.
The shop opens onto The Hub's lawn that features entertainment regularly on its stage.
In the shop and possibly on stage now and then, one might recognize a famous face.
Copeland is Shore Thing Cigar's managing partner. His "friendly" partner in the endeavor is his buddy, country singer Luke Bryan, who has a home in South Walton.
Copeland said he expects Bryan will be dropping in frequently but he never knows when.
Copeland and Bryan met a little over a year ago when Bryan stopped by Copeland's cigar shop in Nashville and the two became fishing buddies.
"This is similar to my place in Nashville, but with more of a Florida feel," said Copeland.
Shore Thing Cigars is open Monday through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 3-10 p.m.
