WALTON COUNTY – A 2.25-mile paving project on County Highway 30A was recently finished, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion was held March 20 at the Ed Walline Regional Beach Access.
The resurfacing took place between County Highway 393 and County Highway 83, according to a press release. The Walton County Board of County Commissioners funded the $400,000 project. It was completed on time and under budget, the release said.
County Highway 30A was originally paved over 40 years ago, according to Chairwoman Cecilia Jones.
On March 14, the Walton County Board of County Commissioners approved two additional segments of County Highway 30A for resurfacing, the release said.
The two segments, funded from the FY16/17 TIF Budget, are estimated at $1.65 million, the release said.
The new projects are scheduled to begin after Labor Day.
