DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — Three people were arrested Thursday after Walton County Sheriff's Office deputies found guns and drugs following a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 331.
Deputies were positive that Alexis Norris, 32, who had felony warrants for burglary, was a passenger in a maroon Nissan Altima that left the Paxton area, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies stopped the vehicle just south of the Liberty community and a K9 unit alerted that there were drugs in the car. Deputies discovered multiple pills, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, including a spoon with residue and hypodermic needles.
Norris was arrested and charged with violation of probation for burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
Two other passengers, Georgia Senterfitt, 23, and Fabian Rutherford, 26, also were arrested for various charges.
Senterfitt was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Rutherford was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
“Rutherford had a gun wrapped in a T-shirt under his crotch and Senterfitt had another gun in her purse” said Corey Dobridnia, spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office.
Dobridnia said the driver of the vehicle didn’t not have any drugs or guns in her possession after being searched.
