MIRAMAR BEACH — A woman was arrested for domestic violence after becoming extremely intoxicated and getting into a fight with her boyfriend over an engagement ring.

According to the 43-year-old woman’s Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, on Nov. 16 deputies responded to a condominium complex and made contact with a man who identified himself as the woman’s boyfriend and said the woman was his “future fiance.” The man said they had gone out to a bar where the woman drank “many large alcoholic beverages” and had become “easily agitated.”

The two got into a verbal argument about an engagement ring when the woman pushed her boyfriend into the hotel window and punched him in the nose. As he got his luggage and began to leave, she wrapped her arms around his legs and bit him twice on both calf muscles. While attacking him, she was also screaming for help, something he said she often did “to make herself appear to be the victim.”

The man had a bloody nose and bloody bite marks on his arms and legs. The woman had no injuries.

The woman could not keep her balance or stand without help, but she did tell deputies she had “done domestic violence before” but did not elaborate.

The Pensacola woman was charged with battery touch or strike, a misdemeanor, and transported to the Walton County Jail.
