FREEPORT — A woman pulled over for driving without a license plate was then arrested for driving without a driver’s license after she told a deputy she had never been issued a driver’s license in the United States.
According to a report from the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy pulled over the woman driving a black Ford F-150 truck on U.S. Highway 331 because the car had no license plate. When the deputy made contact with the driver, the woman said she “did not have a driver’s license and knew she should not be driving.”
She also said she had never, in fact, had a driver’s license, either in Florida or any other state.
She gave a Freeport address but noted she was a Mexican citizen.
The woman was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, a misdemeanor.
