The art is out of the bag!
Downtown DeFuniak Springs will again be the setting for the Spring Downtown Arts Night from 5-8 p.m. May 4 on historic Baldwin Avenue.
Now in its third year, Downtown Arts Night is a collective effort, orchestrated by volunteers, in an effort to bring back a thriving cultural and arts community to the downtown area of DeFuniak Springs. The evening offers art, food, live music, and fun for our community and visitors to our area.
More than 50 local and regional artists and craftsmen will showcase their work, including artwork, jewelry, woodworking, homemade soaps, preserves, quilts, potters, and many other hand selected one-of-a-kind crafts.
Downtown Arts Night announced the return of The Moseley’s, and their alternative country music, as one the featured live entertainers. The Moseley’s have told their stories through song at festivals and stages from the Florida Panhandle to Atlanta’s Chastain Amphitheater, and everywhere in between.
“The Moseley’s have been a popular attraction at Arts Night, and we are so thrilled to have them back again,” said Cindy Woodham, who is helping organize the event and is a big fan.
Joining The Moseley’s is one of South Walton’s beloved rock bands, The Courtyard Saints. Founded by Mike Whitty, the band’s influences include Bob Dylan, the Band, The Beatles, and John Prine.
Downtown Arts Night is free to public and all are invited to attend and help celebrate the downtown, historic community. The event is fun for the whole family and will also include a children’s area. Tables and chairs will be provided throughout the area so you can sit, relax, and enjoy.
The event is sponsored and coordinated by Nook and Cranny and The Art Nook. Find more information and the vendor applications, go to www.facebook.com/DFSartsnight.
