The 2018 annual Tour of Homes in DeFuniak Springs, originally scheduled for Dec. 1, is postponed. Organizers say that visitors east of Walton County, who traditionally purchase tickets to the event, are severally impacted this year from Hurricane Michael and not likely to attend. This year’s event is orchestrated by Partners In Progress in collaboration with the Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood Foundation.

Proceeds from the 2018 Tour of Homes were going to support the Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood Foundation, a nonprofit organization which raises funds for the restoration and preservation of the historic Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood in DeFuniak Springs.

“We regret having to make this decision,” said Foundation President Shirley Carroll. "We know the hurricane has impacted thousands of lives. Understandably, their focus will be on rebuilding their homes and businesses. We’d rather wait until sometime next year to orchestrate a quality event for everyone to enjoy when the time is just right for everyone."

The Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood Foundation board of directors and leaders of Partners In Progress appreciate the willingness of homeowners and custodians of historic sites who were willing to participate in the 2018 program.
