A new community has come to the south end of Walton County, showcasing extravagant, million dollar homes with with a modern and interconnected twist.

Grace Point, located at 87 Grace Point Way on County Highway 30A, started construction in November of last year and already has around a dozen homes built, with nearly 30 more planned, according to Hilary Farnum-Fasth, the property's broker and owner of Hilary & Reverie, a local real estate company.

"The concept of the community is to be a boutique community with larger resort community amenities," Farnum-Fasth said, who added that ownership of a Grace Point home comes with access to the Watersound Beach Club, as well as other surrounding luxuries.

Currently, only one family lives within the soon-to-be community, but four more owners are moving in next spring.

"They are actually the living proof of what Grace Point is meant to be, which is really a family, generational community," Farnum-Fasth said.

The high-end suburban neighborhood sits on a single road, perpendicular to 30A, toward the beach. Homes range from more than $1 million to nearly $4 million and are relatively close in proximity to each other, but Farnum-Fasth said that the community's developers, Jason Benedict and Matt Fuller, designed each home's tower — an outside balcony area on the highest floor — so that one wouldn't block the view of another.

"It's kind of revolutionary in an old way that it's an older concept made modern," said Michele Bailey, the vice president of agent development for Hilary & Reverie.

Bailey said they hope the community will be less of a vacation destination for renting families, and more of a places for people to live and continue their family legacy.

In addition to hiring a specific team of three architects, Farnum-Fasth said that Benedict and Fuller personally take part in designing each house, and Fuller's team at Point Construction builds each home, which come furnished, and owners are able to customize furniture, flooring and lighting and plumbing fixtures.

Grace Point is set for completion within the next two years, Farnum-Fasth said, and will be accompanied by a new selection of high-end restaurants and shops along 30A, just outside of the community's gates. 

"It's a lifestyle that we just don't have (here on 30A) because our other resort communities, as great as they are, are all so large and aren't gated, and aren't as intimate. That experience is lost," Farnum-Fasth said. "We really see (Grace Point) as being super appealing to families, but also ... the people who are phasing into that phase of their lives where they want to have a home at the beach that their kids come to with their kids, and there's something for all of them to do."
