CALLAWAY — Three women were arrested Wednesday after allegedly attempting to walk out of a Walmart with about $700 in merchandise, according to official reports.
Natalya L McKinnon, 19; Alishia Colvins, 18; and Chynna Carter, 18, have been charged with felony petit theft in the case.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office reported the trio was spotted by loss prevention inside the Walmart at 725 N. Tyndall Parkway, acting suspicious.
The loss prevention officer watched as the women went to the cosmetics department, the women’s clothing department and then the infant clothing area, placing items in a plastic Walmart bag.
They then attempted to leave without paying but were greeted by police, BCSO reported.
Once arrested, officers discovered they had numerous items of merchandise with them – including pants, thongs, belts, gloves, makeup, necklaces, earrings, burp cloths, bibs and washcloths – totaling $698.
The incident was captured on surveillance video, which will be used to prosecute the three on felony charges, BCSO reported.
