ESCAMBIA COUNTY — A mailman suffered minor injuries after a Navarre teen hit the rear of a U.S. Postal Service vehicle Wednesday about noon.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol release, Robert Holderman, 18, was driving a Ford F-150 north on Scenic Highway in Escambia County when an unknown vehicle traveling in front of Holderman swerved in attempt to miss the U.S. Postal Service vehicle.

Holderman did not have sufficient time to miss the postal service vehicle, the FHP said.

The driver of the postal service vehicle, Eric Weatherford, was transported to West Florida Hospital with minor injuries.

Holderman was charged with careless driving.
