MOSSY HEAD — A firefighter was injured Friday while battling a suspicious house fire on Aster Lane.

The Walton County Fire Rescue and Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to the mobile home about 1 a.m. following a 911 call from a man who said his neighbor's house was on fire, according to a press release from the fire department.

When first responders arrived, they found flames coming from part of the home. Firefighters battled the blaze for almost an hour before the flames were extinguished.

A firefighter was injured after the floor of the home collapsed beneath him. He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and was released later.

The home's residents made it out safely. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office to investigating. The American Red Cross was contacted to help the residents.
