A Florida mother and daughter leaving Midtown Beach attempted to flee after two patrol officers questioned them about the strong smell of marijuana emanating from their black Mercedes Benz, according to a police report.
On June 4, officers standing near the car noticed the marijuana odor when the women opened their doors, the report shows.
When police questioned the driver, a 17-year-old Jupiter teen, she said the car belonged to the other woman, identified as her mother, the report shows.

With her mother in the car, she then took off westbound across the Royal Park Bridge “swerving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed, driving extremely recklessly,” the report shows. Moments later, West Palm Beach police reported the car involved in a hit-and-run crash at Okeechobee Boulevard and Dixie Highway, according to the report.
The daughter was charged with felony fleeing and eluding police, misdemeanor driving with a suspended license, misdemeanor reckless driving and misdemeanor resisting arrest without violence.
She was charged as an adult and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail and released eight hours later on a $3,000 bond. Her arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. July 11.
