Dec. 7 is set as the date for this year's Christmas Tour of Homes in DeFuniak Springs.
Mark your calendar and plan to spend the entire day in historic DeFuniak Springs. The event will assist St. Agatha’s Episcopal Church, this year’s sponsor, to preserve three historic structures on Circle Drive for the public to enjoy for the next 100 years.
From 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and for the ticket price of $25, seven historic homes have agreed, thus far, to participate in the tour and three others have given strong “Maybe” responses. Still others remain to be contacted. In addition, one home/commercial space that was completely renovated over the last two years will be shown. You can look forward to exploring some other attractions free of charge such as St. Agatha’s Church, Parish House and Vicarage, several museums, the winery, the library, etc.
Christmas Reflections, which consists of 9 million lights in Chipley Park, will begin about 5 p.m., so plan to stay at least until dark. Their nominal fee of $3 per person is allocated to maintenance of the lights and displays as well as for the electric bill.
Plans are evolving, so call 850-7663 or check www.stagathadefuniak.org for more information and/or to reserve tickets.
