Laura Jo Spradling passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 24, 2021 at the age of 80. Her long battle with a serious illness showed her determination and courage facing life challenges with a smile, despite all of the pain she endured. Laura attended Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City and then the University of Oklahoma in Norman. She enjoyed spending time with her family, volunteering with the United Way Emerald Coast, NW Florida Girl Scout Council, NW Florida American Red Cross, and her devotion to the Lord in Wright Baptist Church of Fort Walton. She is preceded in death by Walt and Birdie Spiker (parents) and Jeff Spradling (son). Laura is survived by her husband Gary, daughter Kimberly Ward (Michael), two grandsons (Glenn and Greg Ward), brother Donald Self of Edmond Oklahoma with numerous nieces. A Celebration of Life will be held at Wright Baptist Church (FWB) on Saturday, December 18 from 2 PM - 4 PM. In lieu of plants or flowers, a donation to the Lupus Foundation of America (https://www.lupus.org) would be appreciated.
