Herb Henderson of Fort Walton Beach asks if we have forgotten about God and our neighbors, no matter their skin color, in a sad pursuit of money.
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ let us remember a few things to honor him. Jesus was born during an oppressive Roman occupation with a puppet Jewish king. Jesus was born in poverty and his parents had to flee with him to Egypt to escape violence. The Egyptians did not separate him from His parents, nor lock him up in a cage. His family went back to Israel before he was 12.
Jesus taught us to love God as the first commandment, and to love your neighbor as yourself as the second commandment. He also taught, “For what profits a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul.” Matthew 16:26.

Are we as a nation in love with money and things? Have we forgotten about God and our neighbors that are of a different color, or speak a different language?
Please honor God’s message to us through his son Jesus Christ. Please think about all people more than gaining wealth.
Peace be with you and Merry Christmas.
