Hurricane party was the place to be last Friday night

Former Olympian Jeff Galloway visited TESLA Academy in Seagrove Beach to pump up the runners before their afternoon exercise. Galloway signed their shoes before next week's cross country meet.

CVHN's annual Hurricane Party at Bud & Alley's last Friday night was a fabulous and fun party for a great cause. Dave and Carol Rauschkolb hosted and supplied quite the spread and variety of food! Tricia and Mark Northcutt, Zach Billingsley, Candace Abuvala, Kitty Taylor, Jeanette Miller, Linda Miller, Nancy and Barron Strother, Patti Johnson, Tommy May, Gayle Schoettle, Jan and Joe Stanko, John Stasko, Lynn Nesmith, Mike Ragsdale, Steve and Karen Wagner, Demetria and Richard McNeese, Lourdes Reynafarje, Bob and Lorre James, Jane and Greg Bahr, Vickie and Ray Dollar were some of the 200 who enjoyed.

Walton County Chamber held its monthly Business After Hours last Thursday night at Burnt Pine Golf Club and saw a good turnout for it. Karen and Rick Schoonover, Darwin Davis and Ginny Olsen, Kitty Whitney, Tresha Brown, Stephanie and Peter Burke, Joe Serrato, Jamie McIntosh, Michael McIntosh, Mike McIntosh, Peggy Brown, Susan Henry, Russ Noblitt, Wendy Radke, Kellie Jo Kilburg, Catherine Brannon, and Teri McCall were there.

I saw Sharon Thompson, Lorene Gruzdis, Judi and Rick Sikora at the pool last weekend.

And I saw my first pompano up close and personal fishing in the Gulf.

Wasn't the Gulf beautiful last weekend? Perfect.

Saturday night, I enjoyed some great hors d'oeuvres with Chick and Cathy Huettel.

Friends gathered at Vue on 30A last Thursday to celebrate Peggy Hayes' birthday. Peggy Lillie, Connie Yarbro, and Jeanette Miller attended.

This week, friends of Peggy Jones gathered at George's at Alys Beach on Tuesday to celebrate her birthday.

Congratulations to Sarah and Bobby Brazwell on the birth of Callie Grace last Wednesday.

The Director of Development at Presbyterian Hospital of Queens University presented Mike McCarty with a signed and numbered, hand-painted French Limoges figurine depicting the first nurses' uniform at the 2012 homecoming reunion of the nursing school for the unveiling of McCarty's commissioned painting of the late WWII veteran, Col. M. Jean Culver.

Jon and Teri Vice went to Disney World's Coronado Springs Resort for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Celebration last week. Jon serves on the board.

Didon Comer visited upper Captiva Island.

Jane Burns visited Ocoee, Fla.

Jane Bahr is working in Myrtle Beach.

Ginny Olsen is back from Nebraska.

Robin Wiesneth visited north Georgia.
