Old Florida Fish House held its third annual Wreaths for Alaqua, benefiting Alaqua Animal Refuge on Dec. 8.

The event raised $5,835 for Alaqua, surpassing last year’s event by nearly $1,500.

Auctioneer Helen "Redd" Vizard vivaciously auctioned off 21 wreaths created by local artists, businesses and individuals especially for this event. The wreaths, some of which were packaged with bonus items and gift certificates, went to the highest bidder during this festive holiday fundraiser for Alaqua.

Wreaths were decorated for the event by 30A Local Properties’ Jodi Asbel, The Art of Simple, Bella Flora 30A, The Blue Giraffe, Century 21 Blue Marlin, Counts Real Estate, Déjà vu, Got You Covered Interior Designs’ Joy LeBlanc, Grayton Beer Company, Hill Coleman CPA, Mary Hong Studio, Mimi, Oasis Management Company, Old Florida Fish House, Proffitt PR and Frill Seekers Gifts, Redd’s Fueling Station, Smileology – Santa Rosa Beach, The Studio Gallery, Yellow Fin Ocean Sports and The Zoo Gallery.

The $5,835 will go toward Alaqua’s mission to heal animals who have been victims of abuse and neglect. For those interested in donating to Alaqua Animal Refuge, please visit www.alaqua.org/how-to-help/donate-now/ or call 850-880-6399.
