LETTER: What Christmas is About

Well it is not about the presents, it is not about the tree

It is not about you and it is not about me

It is not about what you think or what you have been told

Christmas is all about a baby who was born long ago…

They laid him in a manger with a star overhead

But it is not about the star and it is not about the bed

The wise men traveled far and the cattle they did lo

But it is not about the wise men or how far they had to go

Joseph was the father and the mother's name was Mary

It wasn't about the parents, it was about the baby that she carried

Well the angels sent the shepherds to witness this great joy

But it is not about the shepherds, it is all about the baby boy

Well it is all about the baby who was sent from up above

It was the greatest gift from God, it is how he showed his love

God sent him here to teach us and he sent him here to die

To take the wages of our sins for both you and I…

Now they named this baby Jesus, we all should celebrate his birth

The greatest thing that ever happened is when he came to earth.

So in this Christmas season let us all spread God's love

And get down on our knees and thank God he sent Jesus down from up above.
