Don't know what to get that special child for Christmas?

Or, maybe you would just like to support a local charity this holiday season, especially one that makes a difference in the lives of children.

Children's Volunteer Health Network has your answer.

For the eighth year CVHN is bringing you Cottages For Kids.

Choose between three unique one-of-a-kind specially built playhouses for that special child in your life that can be moved to your back yard or your church's yard.

Bids are taken online at www.cottagesforkids.org.

The fourth cottage will go home with one lucky raffle ticket holder. Tickets are $5 each.

The four cottages were constructed by four different local builders, so each is unique and different.

The cottages and builders are "Coastal Latitude" by O.B. Laurent, "The Nest" by Davis Dunn Construction, "All Decked Out" by Corestruction, and "e3" by Dancor Construction.

Davis Dunn has participated for several years, said CVHN marketing and events coordinator Kim Kelley.

The cottages are available for viewing on the lawn at Grand Boulevard. This is the first year for them to be at Grand Boulevard.

Unveiled Oct. 30, the cottages will be available for viewing through Nov. 9.

"We are anticipating 100 views per day," said Kelley.

Volunteers will be onsite daily selling tickets and T-shirts, Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 4-7 p.m.

CVHN was founded to aid children in Walton and Okaloosa counties without medical or dental insurance, and to date has helped almost 7,000 children in need.
