Take the family to Baytowne to see Santa this weekend.

The turkey has been consumed and leftovers are put away.

Now that T Day is over and done with, it's time for the big guy in red to take center stage.

Santa will take the stage this weekend at The Village of Baytowne Wharf in the heart of Sandestin.

The fun two days of events themed "Here Comes Santa Claus" kicks off Friday at 6 p.m. with the showing of the popular children's movie "Polar Express" on the lawn of the Events Plaza.

The next day, the fun continues with the arrival at 6 p.m. of the jolly old man himself — Santa Claus!

The public is invited to come out and welcome the jolly-old elf to Baytowne and cheer him on as he lights the Village Christmas tree at 6:30 p.m.

The 24-foot-tall tree is located in the Events Plaza and boasts more than 800 ornaments this year, as well as beautiful lights that are choreographed for a festive display during the 12 Nights of Lights shows.

Stick around for the light show, fireworks that light up the sky over the lagoon, and visit with Santa, hop on his lap, and tell the big guy what you are dreaming of finding underneath your tree this year on Christmas morn.

Parents are invited to bring their cameras and take photos to commemorate the event.

Stores will be open and visits with Santa will be available until 9 p.m.

During the weekend event, Abrakadoodle will be on site helping children create Christmas crafts, there will special performances by Power Up Watersports, and carriage rides will be available.

"It will be fun for the whole family – from fireworks to holiday lights and visits with Santa Claus. This event is the perfect kick off to the holiday season!” said Baytowne Events Manager Julie Stuckey.

Admission is free to this annual event and it is open to the public.
