WCSO
More than $15,000 worth of damage was done Saturday night to the Raven course.

Walton County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding the person or persons responsible for causing thousands of dollars in damages to a Walton County Golf Course.

On Aug. 29 WCSO deputies responded to a call for service at Sandestin Beach Resort in reference to criminal mischief. Responding deputies spoke to the head of maintenance over the golf courses who located three areas of damage to courses while doing his routine morning checks.

The first was the 13th green on Raven course. It appeared someone had driven onto the green with a vehicle and did "doughnuts" on it. The landscaping was severely damaged. Damages to additional tees and greens totaled more than $15,000.

One witness told deputies around 10 p.m. on Aug. 28 they saw a vehicle with one headlamp on the golf course and could hear a loud exhaust. No other witnesses or description of the vehicle could be found.

As the investigation continues Walton County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information to call (850) 892-8111 or you can remain anonymous by calling Crimestoppers at 863-TIPS.
