Davidson MS student threatens to shoot up school bus
14-year-old is facing felony
OKALOOSA —A 14-year-old student at Davidson Middle School has been charged with a felony after allegedly threatening to shoot up his school bus.
According to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office release, a witness provided a sworn statement saying that the boy, while riding a school bus Friday, threatened to obtain an AK-47 assault rifle and shoot up the bus. Based on the school bus video, the defendant made a motion as if he were shooting an automatic weapon and said "boom boom boom."
The boy, whose name is not being published by the Daily News, has been charged with making a false report of planting bomb or explosive, a second degree felony.
The incident occurred two days after a 17-year-old Niceville High School student threatened to fire shots in school on Halloween.
OCSO reiterated its "zero tolerance policy for making threats of school violence," according to the release.
