Defuniak woman killed in multi-vehicle pedestrian collision

NICEVILLE — A DeFuniak Springs woman is dead after being hit by two vehicles on Tuesday.

According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on State Road 20 near its intersection with Live Oak Street.

At about 7:30 p.m., Niceville’s Renita White, who is 53, was driving west on State Road 20 toward Live Oak Street. At about the same time, Niceville’s Susan Seltzer, who is 68, was traveling on the road in the same direction.

The release said that Ginger Drake, a 41-year-old DeFuniak Springs resident, then walked into the road and was hit by White.

Drake was thrown to the ground and hit again, this time by Seltzer, who was trailing White.

FHP said that Drake died at the scene. Neither White or Seltzer were injured.
