Passenger in I-10 vehicle tells trooper he has drugs
CRESTVIEW — A Tuesday traffic stop lead to a man being arrested for drugs.
According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Interstate 10 near mile marker 60.
At about 12:30 p.m., a trooper pulled over a vehicle for speeding. During the stop, James Mark George of Andalusia, Alabama, a passenger in the vehicle, allegedly told the trooper he had marijuana in his pocket.
K9 Remy was then called to do an external search of the car, leading to the trooper allegedly discovering a bag containing about 36 grams of methamphetamine, 1 gram of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
George said the bag was his and was arrested, according to the release.
His charges include trafficking methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
