Walton K-9 Jester aids deputies in cocaine bust
FREEPORT— More than eight grams of cocaine were discovered after a K-9 alerted during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 331 on Monday.
Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 9:30 p.m. After the K-9 unit indicated there were drugs in the car, deputies searched and found 14 individual bags containing cocaine inside a pill bottle in the center console.
The cocaine weighed a total of 8.6 grams.
Deputies also located $2,659 in cash in the suspect’s possession and additional bags matching the ones containing cocaine.
Adalberto Castanedo, 34, was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, along with a driver’s license violation.
Additional charges may be filed, WCSO said.
