The body of the Florida Highway Patrol state trooper shot and killed Wednesday on Interstate 95 will be transported from Fort Pierce to Sarasota starting at 8:30 a.m. Friday, officials said.
The S. Lucie County Sheriff's Office reported FHP Trooper Joseph Bullock, 42, will be escorted from the Fort Pierce Medical Examiner's Office to Sarasota along State Road 70.
The Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office stated the public was "encouraged to stand along Highway 70 with us to honor this hero."
Both agencies said to expect traffic delays while Okeechobee also said to expect heavy law enforcement presence in the area.
Bullock was shot and killed on Interstate 95 Wednesday after he stopped to help a motorist around 10:15 a.m. at mile marker 105 in Palm City, between High Meadow Road in and Martin Highway.
Martin County Sheriff's Office stated Thursday evening the suspected shooter was Franklin Reed III, of Palm Bay.
An off-duty Riviera Beach police officer in the area shot and killed Reed, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
