Inlet Beach pedestrian killed in fatal hit-and-run on U.S. Highway 98

A 45-year-old Inlet Beach man was struck and killed by an unidentified driver while walking along U.S. Highway 98, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An unknown vehicle, possibly a 2011-2014 model white Nissan Juke, was traveling west on U.S. 98 near N. Walton Lakeshore Drive early Monday morning, the FHP said.

The vehicle collided with a pedestrian near this location, then fled the scene. The pedestrian was located at daylight and pronounced deceased on scene. An investigation is underway to locate the vehicle and determine the cause of the crash occurred.
