WCSO investigating shooting that left one injured on Howlin Road in DeFuniak Springs

Tape blocks off the scene of a Wednesday shooting on Howlin Road in DeFuniak Springs. One person was taken to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center to be treated for injuries.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a person was injured Wednesday in a shooting on Howlin Road in DeFuniak Springs. 

The Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office were on scene about 7 p.m., according to a WCSO social media post. One person was taken by Walton County Fire Rescue to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.

The WCSO Criminal Investigations Bureau has identified all parties involved in the incident with the help of neighboring agencies, according to the post. No names have been released. The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident.
