Alaqua Pet of the Week — Eva

Special to The Sun

Eva, an 8-year-old Newfoundland, has been loved her whole life and has not known anything different until now. Both of her parents are sick and they do not have a lot of time left. They wanted to be sure that their best friend would have a loving home and a family before they moved on. This was a great sacrifice as most people would want their best friend with them until the end.

Eva’s mom and dad just want what is best for this wonderful girl. You can help to fulfill their last wish …. A loving home for Eva. Eva is sweet, laid back and just wants to be loved. At 144 pounds, she truly is a gentle giant. Like all Newfies, she will take up a lot of space, will need air-conditioning in the spring and summer and consistent brushing of her dense coat.

If you think you could provide her with a new place to call home, come out to the refuge and meet her in person. Eva’s adoption fee is $150 which includes her spay, microchip and current vaccines. If you are interested in her, please fill out an application online at https://www.alaquaanimalrefuge.org/adopt/apply/.
