Three injured in two crashes in southern Walton County

SANTA ROSA BEACH — Three people were injured into two separate vehicle crashes early Saturday morning, a Facebook post by the South Walton Fire District said.

About 1 a.m., firefighters responded to a crash near the intersection of Mack Bayou Road and U.S. Highway 98. SWFD worked quickly with hydraulic tools, commonly referred to as “the jaws of life,” to remove an entrapped person. The person was taken to a local hospital with injuries.

The South Walton Fire District rescued a person who was trapped in a vehicle following a crash at U.S. Highway 98 and Mack Bayou Road about 1 a.m. Saturday.

Firefighters then responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash about 6 a.m. at Chat Holley Road and U.S. Highway 331. The occupants were out of the car when SWFD arrived.

Two people were taken to a local hospital for treatment. 

Two people were injured when a car overturned near U.S Highway 331 and Chat Holley Road about 6 a.m. Saturday.

U.S. 331 and the Clyde B. Wells Bridge were temporarily shut down while first responders cleared the crash site, but the area has since reopened to traffic.
