Shelters to open tonight

Walton County Emergency Management has activated Cold Weather Emergency Shelters for Walton County this evening, Feb. 6.

The following cold weather emergency shelters will be open beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Coastal Branch Library

437 Greenway Trail

Santa Rosa Beach

DeFuniak Springs Community Center

361 North 10th St.

DeFuniak Springs

The National Weather Service predicts a temperature of below 40°F in Walton County. Freezing temperatures are possible late tonight through tomorrow morning, Feb. 6.

Walton County Emergency Management will continue to monitor weather developments and make additional announcements as necessary.
